The results are in! David and I finished staining the entire project and we are incredibly happy. If you have the time, I would recommend staining each piece of wood before you put it together. The pergola has endless amounts of tight spaces and corners; it took us about two days of nonstop staining. It was well worth it! Enjoy – because we are!
Wow, looks great! We love pergolas. We built one years ago in the corner of our yard and have now started a much larger one to cover our patio. I look forward to following your other projects.
Thank you so much. I hope you post pictures of your project!
Doesn’t it look a million time better! I’m a bit of a house flipper and one of the sure fire ways that I like to increase the value of a house is by installing a pergola. It can really transform a space from nothing to magnificent.
Your pergola looks even better as you put in the slats at the front, which simply adds to the overall effect. Great work and great example of how a pergola can transform a space.
Thanks Dave! We love our pergola very much. Not only does it look good, but it functions as a stand for our swing.
Perfectly covered. You are my favorite blogger in 2014
